Marine safety is increasingly threatened by climate change, earthquakes, and tsunamis. Sudden storms and high waves are leading to a rise in maritime accidents, such as capsizing vessels and passengers falling overboard. To facilitate early rescue operations, there is a need to constantly track the location of ships and passengers and to transmit SOS signals immediately in emergencies. Furthermore, IoT technology is expected to help by alerting vessels to approaching dangers hours in advance.
